From Stories to Puppets (Pre-k - 2nd Grade

Learn the many ways a story can be told through storytelling, reading books aloud, role playing, acting games and puppet shows. Students will then turn a folk tale into a puppet show to perform for themselves and others and will also get to make a puppet of their own.

Storytelling From Fairies to Tricksters (1st-4th or 5th-7th)

Students will listen to and help tell stories with storyteller and teacher Daniel Romano. Hear folktales from around the world, from Anansi the Spider to the Fairy people of Ireland. Students will participate in storytelling games and activities and learn how to be a storyteller.

Traditional Celtic tales and legends can be paired with live music or each can be performed separately.  This program can be tailored for audiences of any age at festivals, daycare or senior centers,  schools or libraries any time of the year.

The Art of Shadow Puppetry

Puppeteer Daniel Romano will demonstrate the ancient art of shadow puppetry and teach students the basics. In this hands-on program, participants will get to plan, draw and make their own shadow puppets, then create a simple show using the puppets. Suitable for Kindergarten through 5th Grade students
